Privacy policy

What we keep, and why.

Plain words, no small print. Last updated 18 October 2026.

  1. Who we arefeaturd (featurd.me) gives professionals one page for their work, tells them when links they send are opened, and helps them answer the people who get in touch. Recruiters use Spotlight to search pages whose owners chose to appear. featurd is run by Himanshu Ranjan, an individual, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, who decides how your data is used (the “data fiduciary” under India's DPDP Act, “controller” under GDPR). For visitors' data on your page, you decide why it's collected and we process it for you. Questions about this policy: hello@featurd.me.
  2. What you give usYour name, email and sign-in details (a password we store only as a hash, or Google or LinkedIn sign-in). Everything you put on your page: text, photos, files, links and anything you import from a résumé, a LinkedIn PDF, Linktree or a website. If you verify your identity, we keep the result of the check (for example your work email domain, your LinkedIn name or your work account's name and company), not your password for that service.
  3. Visits to your page and linksWhen someone opens your page or a tracked link you sent, we record that it was opened, when, roughly where (country), the kind of device, and which of your links they came through. We don't set cookies for this. Visitors are counted with a one-way code made from their IP address and browser that changes every day, so we can't tell who they are or follow them across days. Visitors are told on your page that visits are counted. What visitors share.
  4. Leads and messagesWhen a visitor asks for an intro, books a call or subscribes, we store what they typed (usually name, email and message) so you can see and answer it. You can export or delete these. If you add a webhook, we send each new lead to the address you chose.
  5. Client confirmationsWhen you ask a client to confirm a result, we email them a link. If they confirm, we keep their name, title, company and email domain so the “Confirmed by” badge can be checked.
  6. Directory and Spotlight (both off by default)Your page appears in the public featurd directory only if you turn on “List me” in Settings. It appears to recruiters in Spotlight only if you turn Spotlight on. Spotlight never shows recruiters your email or phone number. You are hidden from your current employer automatically and from any company domains you add, and you set a weekly limit on intro requests. Turn either off at any time and you disappear from it.
  7. RecruitersRecruiters sign in with a company account. We check the company through Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or a review by our team, and keep their name, work email, company and what they searched for, saved and sent, so we can enforce limits and stop misuse.
  8. AI featuresWhen you use Ivo, import a résumé or page, or a recruiter searches Spotlight, the relevant text is sent to an AI model to do that job: Anthropic's Claude (directly or through Google Cloud Vertex AI), and Google's Gemini for images you ask Ivo to make. We don't train AI models on your content, and these providers process it for us under their business terms rather than to train their models.
  9. Who else processes your dataOnly the services we need to run featurd, each under a contract that limits them to doing that job:
    • Google Cloud (hosting, database, file storage, Vertex AI); data stored in Google Cloud's Mumbai region (asia-south1), India.
    • Google Analytics (visits to featurd's own marketing pages; see Cookies).
    • DataFast (visits and sign-up sources on featurd's own marketing pages; see Cookies).
    • Anthropic (Claude: Ivo, imports, Spotlight search, AI Radar).
    • Google Gemini (AI images, AI Radar answers).
    • OpenAI (AI Radar only: the questions we ask about you, such as your name and field, not your account data).
    • Cloudflare Turnstile (bot checks on sign-up, sign-in and public forms: your browser and IP address, to tell people from bots).
    • Resend (sending email).
    • Dodo Payments (checkout, tax and invoices as merchant of record; we never see your full card number).
    • Microsoft Bing IndexNow (we tell search engines a public page changed; only its public URL is sent).
    • Google, LinkedIn and Microsoft when you choose to sign in, verify or connect a calendar with them.
We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers. We may disclose data if the law, a court or a government order requires it, or to protect people from fraud or harm.
  10. How we measure featurd itselfTo see what works on featurd (which visits turn into sign-ups, who builds and publishes a page), we record product events on our own servers: actions like signing up, publishing or creating a link, tied to your account ID, and page views on our own site counted with the same daily one-way code as above. featurd's own marketing pages (home, pricing, guides, help and the like) also use Google Analytics 4 and DataFast to understand visits: pages viewed, approximate location, device and referring site. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland they run only after you accept; elsewhere they are on by default and you can turn it off any time from “Cookie settings” in the footer. GA4 doesn't store IP addresses, we use no advertising features, and neither runs on your page or inside the app. When you first visit featurd we set one first-party cookie (fd_src, 90 days) that remembers where you came from (the campaign tag, the referring site and the page you landed on) so we can tell which channels bring people who sign up. It holds no identifier and isn't shared. Inside the app we also store your browser's time zone in a cookie (fd_tz) so Insights shows days in your own time zone.
  11. Cookiesfeaturd's own site uses only these:
    • fd_src (90 days): where you came from, as above.
    • fd_tz: your time zone, inside the app.
    • fd_consent (1 year): whether you accepted or rejected analytics.
    • _ga and _ga_* (2 years): Google Analytics, only on our marketing pages and only with your consent where it is required.
    • datafast_visitor_id (1 year) and datafast_session_id (30 minutes): DataFast, on the same pages and with the same consent.
    • Cloudflare Turnstile, our bot check, may set its own cookies when you sign in.
Plus the sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in. Change your analytics choice any time from “Cookie settings” in the site footer.
  12. Analytics you addIf you add Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Plausible, Fathom or Microsoft Clarity to your page, those tools collect data under their own policies, and your page tells visitors which ones it uses.
  13. Export and deleteYou can download everything at any time from Settings → Data: your page as a website, leads and subscribers as spreadsheets, and a full JSON backup. Deleting a page or your account in Settings removes it and its leads, links and stats from our database straight away. Email us to correct or delete anything else.
  14. How long we keep things
    • Your account, pages, products and content: until you delete them.
    • Visit records and leads: for as long as your page exists, so insights keep working. Visits we identify as bots are deleted after 13 months.
    • Sign-in sessions: up to 30 days of inactivity and never more than 90 days; one-time sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes.
    • Ivo chat history: until you delete the page.
    • Recruiter accounts and their search history: until the recruiter deletes their account or asks us to.
    • Payment and invoice records: kept by Dodo Payments and by us for as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally 8 years in India).
    • Backups: deleted data can remain in encrypted backups for up to 7 days before it's overwritten.
    • Abuse reports and records of accounts closed for abuse: as long as needed to stop repeat abuse and meet legal duties (IT Rules 2021 ask us to keep them for at least 180 days).
  15. SecurityData is encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed, and access is limited to what's needed to run and support featurd. We don't claim any security certification. If something goes wrong that affects your data, we'll tell you.
  16. Your rightsWherever you live, you can ask to see, correct, complete, update, export or delete your data, withdraw consent, or object to how we use it. Most of this you can do yourself in Settings; for the rest email hello@featurd.me. We answer within 30 days. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 you also have the right to a summary of what we process and who we share it with, to grievance redressal (below), and to nominate someone to exercise your rights if you die or can't act yourself (email us their name and contact). In the EU or UK you can also ask us to restrict processing, and complain to your data protection authority; in India, to the Data Protection Board of India after using our grievance process.
  17. Data outside your countryfeaturd is run from India and our providers (above) may process data in India, the United States, the EU and other countries. Where data leaves the EU, UK or India we rely on the safeguards the law allows, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, and we don't send data to any country the Indian government has restricted.
  18. Childrenfeaturd is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has given us their data, email hello@featurd.me and we'll delete it.
  19. Grievance OfficerFor complaints about your data, content on featurd, or these policies, contact our Grievance Officer: Himanshu Ranjan, grievance@featurd.me, Bengaluru, Karnataka. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days (requests to remove content that exposes someone's private parts or impersonates them in that way are acted on within 24 hours), as the IT Rules 2021 require, and data rights requests within 30 days at most.
  20. ChangesIf we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email you before it takes effect.
